HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss Women's Soccer team will host Southeastern Louisiana University on Thursday, for an exhibition game at 4 p.m. at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex.
In the last five meetings, the Golden Eagles hold a 3-1-1 advantage over the Lady Lions. The last match between the two sides in 2014 went to the Lady Lions at home in a 1-0 win.
The Golden Eagles finished last season with a winning record of 8-7-2 and look to continue that momentum into the 2017 season. The team lost only five seniors but gained 12 new players including sophomore, Avery Ortmann, a transfer from Southern Methodist University.
Thursday's game will be the only exhibition game of the season before the Golden Eagles start regular play with a home opener against Nicholls State on Aug. 18 at 4 p.m. and will host Stephen F. Austin Aug. 20. at 12 p.m.
