Men's Tennis Win Opening Day In Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. - Southern Miss men's tennis won Monday' match against Eastern Kentucky 4-1 in the first day of competition in Orlando.

Southern Miss won four singles matches to win Monday's match. Doubles action was not played between the two sides.

Ronit Bisht won his seventh match of the season and is now 2-0 on court 2 after Monday's 6-1, 6-0 win against Aggarwal. Chung Han Tsai moved to six wins on the season with an easy 6-0, 6-2 finish on court 3. Tsai improves to 2-1 when competing on court 3.

Wen-Po Tseng's 6-1, 6-2 win on court 4 improves the senior to 8-0 in singles play. Tseng remains the only undefeated Golden Eagle this season.

Jorman Reyes concluded the singles wins for Southern Miss with a 6-2, 6-3 win, a personal 10-match win streak. Reyes is now one win away from his win streak from last season. Reyes hold the second longest win streak in Southern Miss history.

Tom Cecchetto dropped the lone singles match of the match on court 1 in a 6-3, 6-4 finish. Cecchetto is now 4-4 on the season in singles.

Southern Miss takes on Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
