Southern Miss concludes third week of spring football with scrimmage
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Eight days away from the annual Black and Gold Spring Game (presented by Coca-Cola), the Southern Miss football team hit the turf at M.M. Roberts Stadium for a scrimmage that concluded its third week of spring ball.
A half-hour of individual drills preceded the game action.
Big plays through the air included a 50-yard completion to Quez Watkins on Marcelo Rodriguez's first attempt of the day. The redshirt-freshman from Miami also hit Antawyn Fludd on a 22-yard score towards the end. Jaylond Adams also had a 41-yard catch-and-run score from Keon Howard, and Jack Abraham found Watkins on a 21-yard touchdown as well.
Briggs Bourgeois connected on all four of his field goal attempts (33, 35, 40, 48). Dwain Alford also had a long interception for a touchdown, while Ty Williams picked off a pass in the endzone.
